Terms of Use

VoiceMates / IntakeMates · SupportMates LLC · Effective: October 31, 2026

Please read these terms before using the chat or text line.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use apply to anyone who uses an IntakeMates or VoiceMates chat window, phone line, text line or WhatsApp line (the "Service"). The Service is provided by SupportMates LLC on behalf of the law firm or business named in the chat (the "Firm"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy & Chat Recording Notice. If you do not agree, please contact the Firm directly instead. Law firms that use IntakeMates are governed by their written services agreement with SupportMates, which controls over these terms for the firm.

2. AI assistant disclosure

The Service uses an automated AI assistant. It is not a lawyer and not a human being. A person from the Firm, or from SupportMates' bilingual support team acting for the Firm, may join or follow up when you ask for a person or leave your contact details. AI can make mistakes; do not rely on it for decisions about your legal rights.

3. No legal advice and no attorney-client relationship

Information from the Service is general and is not legal advice. Using the Service does not make you a client of the Firm and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Only the Firm can accept your matter, and only through a separate written agreement. SupportMates is not a law firm and is not a lawyer referral service; it does not recommend lawyers or send your inquiry to anyone other than the Firm you contacted. Legal claims have deadlines. Speak with a lawyer promptly.

4. Recording and consent

Conversations are recorded and shared with the Firm so it can respond, as explained in the Privacy Policy. By continuing a conversation you consent to that recording and sharing.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Give truthful information and use the Service only to contact the Firm about your own matter, or for someone you are authorized to help.
  • Do not send Social Security numbers, financial account numbers or full medical records through the Service.
  • Do not misuse the Service: no spam, automated scraping, attempts to break security, harassment, or illegal content.

6. Emergencies

The Service is not an emergency service and is not monitored in real time. In an emergency call 911. For a mental-health crisis call or text 988.

7. Text messages

If you text a Firm's IntakeMates number, you may receive replies about your inquiry. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP (or ALTO) to opt out and HELP (or AYUDA) for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of any service.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or end the Service at any time. Human follow-up is available only during the Firm's published hours; outside those hours your message is delivered for the next business day.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SupportMates is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, and SupportMates' total liability to a user of the free chat Service is limited to US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under California law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
